 BizTalk 2006 R2
 IBM Platform Integration

We understand the value of creating tighter integration between business systems and customers.  Now with new integration tools from Microsoft, enterprise platforms and new systems can be rapidly tied together using industry standard XML and Web Services. These solutions can dramatically improve the efficiencies of business operations and provide a viable solution for managing processes that constantly evolve and change over time.

Our History with Integration Projects

Eastridge has been in the integration business since 1999, and we have successfully engaged in a variety of very complex business scenarios:

  • Integration between IMSDC & IMS/DB mainframe applications and a Windows NT 4.0 Web Server using Microsoft Host Integration Server.
  • Using an IBM CICS Mainframe system as the backend system of record for a new web based financial system for a Petroleum company.
  • Marrying a Java based Sales Order Management system with Siebel CRM using BizTalk Server when a manufacturer acquired a rival.
  • Replacing an expensive EDI system for a national trucking company by leveraging BizTalk server to integrate directly with Wal-Mart, Target, and other retailers.
  • And many, many more examples over the years.

Where are We Stand Today with BPI / BPM

Today Eastridge is a leader with Business Process Integration and Management utilizing Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006.  We are highly regarded within the Microsoft BizTalk product team and in 2006 were invited to join the BizTalk Virtual TS program, as well as speak at Microsoft's annual SOA and Business Process conference.

What is BizTalk Server 2006?

BizTalk Server 2006 is Microsoft's premiere server for building solutions for business process and integration. BizTalk Server 2006, the fourth major version of the product, builds on the innovation and success introduced by the previous three versions—BizTalk Server versions 2000, 2002, and 2004.

Technologies in BizTalk Server

Combining different systems into effective business processes is a challenging problem. Accordingly, BizTalk Server 2006 includes a range of technologies to solve these problems. The figure below illustrates the product’s major components.

As the figure suggests, the heart of the product is the BizTalk Server 2006 Engine. The engine has two main parts:

  • A messaging component that provides the ability to communicate with a range of other software. By relying on adapters for different kinds of communication, the engine can support a variety of protocols and data formats, including Web services and many others.

  • Support for creating and running graphically-defined processes called orchestrations. Built on top of the engine’s messaging components, orchestrations implement the logic that drives all or part of a business process.

The figure below illustrates the main components of the engine.
