SharePoint Intranet for Grocery Retailer

The desire for search capabilities, electronic forms and document libraries were necessities. The need for document collaboration, business workflow and business intelligence was necessary for the company to keep a competitive lead. With better access to corporate resources such as documents, forms and operational metrics, the company employees would be able to work more efficiently.

Eastridge was able to create a centralized search system for all corporate documentation, mass document libraries, high traffic landing pages and sub-sites, and much more. The use of electronic forms instead of paper increased employee availability and enhanced accuracy. The company internal intranet created a robust and proficient workspace for all employees.

Architecture

With a SharePoint 2010 intranet platform, Eastridge was able to implement a single point of access for the company. InfoPath facilitated the transition from paper-based to electronic forms. Business Connectivity Services (BCS) was used to surface Line of Business (LOB) data within SharePoint. Office Web Applications, Excel Power Pivot and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) were also used for various components of the intranet.
