SharePoint Intranet for Telecommunications Company

A longstanding telecommunications client needed development assistance in conjunction with the deployment of the company intranet. After assessing the project with its high-level landings and sub-sites, the company found a need for a news publication sub-site to replace its failing, quarterly press release. The use of SharePoint, Nintex Workflow and InfoPath were essential to satisfy the company's needs.

Vision

For the company’s new portal, Eastridge created a site blueprint and layout document for implementing the portal site topology.  A style guide was was also needed to provide governance for content contributors and site owners to ensure consistent look and feel.  The branding design was intended to be out-of- the-box to match the base theme. The sub-sites were to include a HR portal, a marketing portal, an IT portal, data warehouse links, CAR links, employee search, and a company press release. Within the sub-sites document libraries, document storage, content query roll up web parts, and top level navigation were to be created for each component.  The company's press release sub-site included blogs, Wikis and calendar features to keep keep relevant information and "breaking news" in front of users.

Architecture

Information Architecture sessions were conducted and a site blueprint was developed to aid in implementing the company's portal site topology.  SharePoint governance guidance, style guides, portal configurations, design and branding were combined to ensure a successful launch of the intranet and portal.  WSP Builder and Visual Studio aided in the deployment of the company press release sub-site.
