 Business Need

An internationally known mattress company was in need of SharePoint 2010 Migration support. The company needed an accurate assessment of obstacles they might face when migrating their local, intranet and extranet SharePoint 2007 environments and InfoPath 2007 to SharePoint 2010.

 Solution

Vision

The company’s previous editions of SharePoint, InfoPath, and Nintex required evaluation and an upgrade path to transform them into a newer, higher functioning environments. The creation of driver’s payroll would provide a more efficient way to do billing and a resource planning application would deliver marketing tools targeted to specific retail facilities which featured the company's products.

Architecture

Using SharePoint 2007 assessment and migration path planning, along with a SharePoint 2010 Proof of Concept, Eastridge was able to assist with development and validation of the company's migration plan.  DocAve, InfoPath, and Nintex were key to the success of the migration.  Driver payroll  functionality leveraged InfoPath and SharePoint in conjunction with web service integration to automate data collection from multiple plant locations.  The resource planning application integrated Nintex approval workflows with web services to target inventory, marketing efforts and product training efforts to key retail facilities.

 Benefits

Newer, higher functioning intranet and extranet environments were the company’s biggest benefit. The old paper-based driver payroll was transformed into a more efficient way of billing. The resource planning application provided an enhanced marketing tool for the company, saving time and money.
